Funded! Griffith University 2019 International Workshop Award!

Prof. Hamish McCallum and Dr. Laura Grogan have just been awarded a Griffith University 2019 International Workshop Award to a total of $8,760 ($6,260 from the Office for Research, and $2,500 from the Environmental Futures Research Institute)!

The emergence of fungal diseases is increasing globally and having important impacts on biodiversity and human health. Through our funded ARC Discovery Project, we are currently developing a novel modelling framework for such fungal diseases, using amphibian chytridiomycosis as a case study.

The funds from this International Workshop Award will be used to support a workshop we are running at Griffith University Nathan campus from 4-10th February 2019 "Generalising amphibian disease models across species and international boundaries". We aim to bring key international and domestic researchers together to find a cohesive modelling framework that transcends amphibian disease systems and international boundaries.
